The present perfect continuous tense shows that something started in the past and is continuing at the present time or just finished and we see some results.

Construction – has/have been + Ving (playing) The most popular indicators are – FOR and SINCE. PPC is not normally used with stative verbs such as “have, be, know, love, hate, and so on

Examples:
1) She has been working here for 10 years
2) I’ve been thinking about you since morning
3) (result) My t-shirt is wet because I’ve been running (not a long time ago)

I’ve been thinking about you since morning

I’ve been working in my current job for 3 years

Present Perfect Continuous with FOR and SINCE
Present Perfect Continuous when we see results after recent actions.

1. Write a question in the Present Perfect Continuous (PPC). 

1) You meet Kate as she is leaving the swimming pool.
You say: Hi, Kate. (you / swim?) Have you been swimming?

2) You have arrived a little late to meet Ben who is waiting for you.
You say: I’m sorry I’m late, Ben. (you / wait / long?)

3) Jane’s little boy comes into the house with a very dirty face and dirty hands.
His mother says: Why are you so dirty? (what / you / do?)

4) You are in a shop and see Anna. You didn’t know she worked there.
You say: Hi, Anna. (how long / you / work / here?)

5) A friend tells you about his job – he sells phones.
You ask: Do you sell phones? (how long / you / do / that?)
