Cond.
We use the second conditional when we talk about something imaginary or very unlikely to happen. We also use it to be polite (соответствует русскому “БЫ”) :
(+) If + Past, Sub + Would/Could/Might + Vo
(-) If + didn’t + Vo, Sub + Would/Could/Might not + Vo
(?) Would/Could/Might + Sub + Vo, If + Past
Examples:
1. If I were you I might do that.
2. If I didn’t have money I wouldn’t buy it
